"Once upon a time, back in 2010, a very shy, shaking and overwhelmed woman stood in Shimona's old Whiterock studio - tugging at her outfit, second guessing the choice and utterly petrified to step behind the camera. It was one of those mornings where my brain decided to turn into that evil, judgmental monster we all know can surface now and again... nothing fits right, the pictures are going to be horrible, i've made a mistake. I'm not sure if my shaking knees gave it away, or if I just simply looked like a deer in headlights, but before I even sat down for make up, Shimona tilted her head to follow her and we popped outside. For about 30 minutes, we sat on her front steps over a cup of coffee... just chatting. Gabbing about why I decided to book a pin up shoot, and that I was horribly camera shy; but also about what was happening that weekend, tomorrow - mundane every day chit chat. That chat, wound its way back into the studio and continued while I got my hair artfully twisted up into a pin up poof. We giggled about music and business while she adjusted my lipsticks and glued on fake eyelashes. And about an hour later, I laughed myself out of the chair and in front of the backdrop for "test shots". Shimona jokingly asked me to make a face - I stuck my tongue out at camera. Then silly faces slipped into Ooo's and Ahh's and suddenly - I was in the middle of my first ever pin up shoot. After we laughed our way through countless rounds, we sat down to go over the shots together. That shy, shaky woman returned but this time, her appearance would be short lived. As the photos came up on the screen something released. For the first time, EVER, I felt attractive in a photo. The woman who notoriously hated getting her picture taken was excitedly pointing out "keepers". That day changed so much for me. From there, that little lady went on to take burlesque classes with the infamous Burgundy Brixx, which led to a want to try my hand at producing my own show, collaboration meetings and sitting here today, about to celebrate my three year anniversary with the phenomenal Pandora & The Locksmiths. Whatever hang ups you may have; whatever insecurities - a shoot with Shimona is like therapy. She is brilliantly laid back, incredibly patient and she will make you feel like a million bucks. For me, she opened the door to an entirely new world, community and passion. But at the very bones of it - she made me feel good about myself. If you want to do this. If you've been going back and forth on it for a few months, popping on the website, contemplating the price - just do. It is worth it. Even if your taking the pictures just for yourself... "I had wanted to shoot with Pin-up Perfection for quite sometime and jumped on a Groupon deal I found which promised savings even though I really couldn't afford it. I have done other photo shoots so I am getting use to the typical chin out and down posing but posing for a pin up shoot is a whole nother ball game. She will pose you right down to the positioning of your fingers and the final product will have you thinking you could be a professional model! She has a natural talent with hair and make up and with what seems like no effort at all she will have you looking like a pin up queen! Shimona is very personable and even though I am not comfortable around people I don't know I found myself at ease which makes it a lot easier when you are sitting in front of a lens under the glaring eyes of a spot light."

"First off, I am not a model. I have an average body type, a little disproportionate, a few war wounds, but for my height and age a healthy body. I made an appointment to do a shoot with Shimona (who runs Pin-up Perfection) on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I drove to White Rock with a bag full of costumes and a bouffant filled with excitement. Shimona was a doll herself, with her cute blonde pin-up hairstyle and dazzling smile, she was super friendly and made me feel totally at ease when I did the shoot. Not everyone can make you feel relaxed when you're just in your skivvies. She was full of creative ideas and different positions for me to try out. Believe me, some of those positions are more difficult to hold than you think! It was like doing yoga in thigh highs! Keep your legs pointed, chest out, stick out your butt, keep your back curved, extend your neck, and smile!! The photos turned out great, and we ended up doing another shoot for a zombie pin-up session at the Police Museum. Before you die, you have to get photos done with this lady because then you'll have some saucy photos to show your grankids when you get old. Look at what a hot number granny was back in the day!"
"Professional, creative and FUN! I have done photoshoots with Shimona Henry twice, and both times she has made me look like a major babe. I have no modeling experience, but I didn't have to worry for one second about flailing helplessly in front of the camera - Shimona coached me through minor tweaks and touches that made each pose.... perfection. Everytime my face froze, my fingers stiffened or my tummy relaxed her expert eye caught it and she gently reminded me to adjust. "Professional, creative and FUN! I have done photoshoots with Shimona Henry twice, and both times she has made me look like a major babe. I have no modeling experience, but I didn't have to worry for one second about flailing helplessly in front of the camera - Shimona coached me through minor tweaks and touches that made each pose.... perfection. Everytime my face froze, my fingers stiffened or my tummy relaxed her expert eye caught it and she gently reminded me to adjust.
